News & Announcements

Attention 4th and 5th Grade Parents/Guardians,

Dear current 3rd & 4th grade parents, on Thursday, August 13 there will be the 4th and 5th grade parent meeting and tour with Principal Sam Schug from 12:00-2:00pm in the Seven Hills gym. This will be a chance for you and your child to hear first hand about Seven Hills School and tour the school as your child transitions to a new school for the 2020-2021 school year with a positive experience. Seven Hills is a special school for many reasons. Staff members are experienced and enthusiastic, and deliver a curriculum that is challenging and creative.  The core curriculum is founded on a set of sound standards that meet, or exceed state guidelines. Enrichment curriculum is valued and we offer a wide variety of classes that will enrich the whole child, and allow them to explore new interests.

A Letter from our Superintendent

Families of NCSD: Nevada City School District has formed a Committee to discuss school re-entry.  This committee of 12 is made up of a variety of stakeholders including parents. Starting next week, they will be meeting weekly, by virtual means, to discuss important topics related to school reopening, sanitation, and impacts on our students, staff, families, and community.

In addition, two surveys will be coming to you.  One is for students to fill out.  The directions to access this survey will be in the email blast from the school site. At the end of next week, a family survey will be available to give you an opportunity to provide feedback regarding distance learning and school reopening. We greatly appreciate your input.

Below is Superintendent Thurman's response to Governor Newsome's statement about school starting early.  We realize the stressful impact this uncertainty causes for families.  We will do our best to communicate ideas and plans as we know them.  Thank you for being part of the Nevada City School District.
Monica Daugherty
